ARE YOU DOING YOUR BEST?

If you want more energy, do your best. If you want to feel happier and more alive, do your best. If you want to get the things in life that you want or improve what you have, do your best.

Slacking off really taxes the system. Your mind starts cycling through negative self talk and your body drags with fatigue. It may seem counter intuitive when you feel like you barely have enough energy to get by, but getting your butt in gear will actually give you a big boost. If you are in a funk or a rut, this is how you get out.

I know, I know, there are a million reasons why you might not want to. Your boss is a jerk and you aren’t appreciated at work. Your girlfriend takes you for granted. Your family still sees you as the tween brat that you once were. That’s their problem but you make it yours when you allow yourself to use them as an excuse to half-ass it.

Pick one area of your life and commit to doing your very best, no matter what the circumstances. You can take it hour-by-hour or day-by-day. Give it a week and you will feel worlds better. It goes without saying what a month or a year of this can do. The alternative is to be defeated by mediocrity, which often leads to layoffs, breakups and estrangement. You deserve better than that.
